Metal Roofing in Palm Valley, Installed by One Crew Start to Finish
We install standing seam and 5V crimp metal roofs, with panel metal, fasteners and underlayment chosen for salt air and hurricane-season wind. The same small crew tears off, installs and cleans up, so the people who measured your home are the ones who fasten the last ridge cap.

When a metal roof is the right call for your home
A metal roof costs more up front than architectural shingles. It earns that back through a longer service life, stronger wind resistance and a surface that reflects more summer heat away from the attic. It is the better fit if you expect to own your home for a long stretch, if your shingles have aged out early from heat and wind, or if you want a roof that clears a heavy downpour fast.
It is not always the right answer. If your budget points to shingles, we will say so and price a shingle roof through our Roof Replacement service instead. We have been in business since 1995, and as a licensed general contractor we pull the permit and schedule the inspections ourselves.
Our crew is small on purpose. The person who climbs up to measure is on the roof on install day, so details agreed at the estimate, like where a panel seam lands or how a skylight gets flashed, do not get lost in a handoff.
What a metal roof installation includes
Tear-off and deck check
We remove the old roofing down to the deck and walk every sheet. Soft or delaminated plywood is replaced and photographed, and we add fasteners where the deck nailing falls short of current wind uplift requirements.
High-temperature underlayment
Metal panels run far hotter than the air on a summer afternoon, and ordinary felt can soften and stick. We use a synthetic underlayment rated for high heat, with self-adhered membrane in valleys and around penetrations where water concentrates.
Panel metal matched to exposure
Galvalume steel with a PVDF finish suits most homes. Where salt spray reaches the roof, we talk through aluminum panels, which do not rust when the coating gets scratched.
Clips, fasteners and closures
Standing seam panels ride on clips that let the metal expand and contract in the sun without tearing at fastener holes. Foam closures at the eave and ridge block wind-driven rain and insects. Any exposed screw is coated or stainless with a sealing washer.
Flashing at every break in the roof
Pipe boots, wall and chimney flashing, valley metal and drip edge are sized to the panel profile. We keep copper away from steel, because the two corrode each other where water runs between them.
Cleanup and final walk
Metal work leaves sharp offcuts and loose screws. We magnet-sweep the yard and driveway, cart away all the tear-off debris, and then go over the new roof with you panel by panel before we call it done.
Signs a metal roof deserves a look
Shingles wearing out early
Granules in the gutters, curled tabs or bare patches on a fairly young roof point to heat and UV wear. Another shingle roof may fail on the same timeline.
Shingles lost in most storms
If you replace blown-off shingles after every big blow, the seal strips have stopped bonding. Properly clipped panels resist far more uplift.
A hot attic or upstairs
Dark shingles absorb heat and pass it into the attic. A light or reflective metal finish sends more of it back out.
Rust or backed-out screws on an old metal roof
On exposed-fastener roofs, washers dry out and screws loosen as panels move. Rust streaks and leaks along screw lines mean it is time to re-panel, or to start with smaller fixes through our Roof Repair service.
You plan to stay put
The longer life of a metal roof spreads its cost over more years. That math works best when you will be the one living under it.
How a metal roof job runs
- 1
Free estimate on the roof
We measure every plane, check the deck from the attic, and note pitch, valleys and penetrations. You get a written line-item estimate along with panel profile and color samples.
- 2
Permit and panel order
We pull the reroofing permit. Panels are roll-formed to the exact length of each run, so we order after measurements are confirmed, which avoids splices partway up a slope.
- 3
Tear-off and dry-in
We strip only what we can cover with underlayment the same day, and we watch the afternoon storm forecast while we work. Your home is sealed every night.
- 4
Panels, trim and final inspection
Panels go on from the eave up, followed by trim, flashing and ridge cap, then the inspection the permit requires. The same crew handles every stage, sweeps the yard and walks you through the finished roof.
What moves the price of a metal roof
We price each roof from measurements taken on site, not a guess over the phone. The written estimate breaks out tear-off, decking, underlayment, panels and trim so you can see where the money goes. Financing is available if you would rather spread the cost out.
- Panel system
- Standing seam with concealed clips costs more than 5V crimp or other exposed-fastener panels, because it takes more trim and slower installation. In exchange, it needs far less fastener upkeep over the years.
- Metal and finish
- Aluminum costs more than Galvalume steel. A PVDF finish costs more than SMP paint and holds its color longer in strong sun.
- Roof shape and pitch
- Hips, valleys, dormers and steep slopes add cuts, trim pieces and labor. A simple gable is the least costly shape to cover.
- Deck condition
- Rotted plywood found during tear-off is replaced per sheet at the rate written on your estimate, so a bad deck never becomes an open-ended charge.
- Old layers and access
- Two layers of shingles take longer to remove and dispose of. Tight side yards and long carries from the truck slow material handling too.
Metal roofing questions we hear
Something not covered here? (904) 675-1142
Is a metal roof louder when it rains?
Not by much when it is built correctly. The panels sit on solid plywood with underlayment between them, and the insulation in your attic soaks up most of what gets through, so a summer downpour sounds close to what you hear under shingles today. The loud drumming people picture comes from barns and sheds, where metal is screwed straight to open purlins with nothing underneath. Every roof we install goes over a solid deck.
Will lightning be drawn to a metal roof?
Whether a house gets struck depends on its height and what stands around it, not on the roofing material. A metal roof is no more likely to take a hit than a shingle one. And since steel and aluminum are noncombustible, a strike will not set the panels themselves burning.
Can you install metal over my existing shingles?
We tear off instead. Removing the shingles lets us inspect and repair the deck, keeps moisture from being trapped between layers, and gives the panels a flat surface so shingle edges do not show through the metal.
Will the panels stay on in a hurricane?
Wind resistance comes down to the fastening pattern. We set clips and screws to the spacing listed in the product's Florida approval and the wind-load requirements for your home, and we follow it exactly rather than spacing by eye.
What warranty comes with a metal roof?
Our installation labor is backed by a 5-year workmanship warranty. Panel and paint coverage comes from the manufacturer and depends on the product, and we hand you those documents when the roof is done.
Do my gutters need to change with a metal roof?
Sometimes. Metal sheds water faster and in heavier sheets than shingles, which can overshoot small gutters. We check the size and downspout count, and our Gutters service can handle upgrades during the same project.

Talk through metal for your home
We will measure your roof, show you standing seam and 5V samples side by side, and give you a written estimate. The crew you meet on that visit is the crew that builds the roof.
