ServicesStorm Damage Repair
Storm Damage Repair in Palm Valley, FL
After a tropical storm or a hard summer squall, we walk your roof, photograph creased shingles, lifted ridge cap and torn flashing, and explain plainly what the wind did. The same small crew that inspects your roof makes the repair, and we work directly with your insurance adjuster.

What Storm Damage Repair Covers
Most storm damage on a shingle roof starts small. Wind gets under a shingle edge, breaks the factory sealant strip, and bends the tab back until it creases. The shingle may lie flat again afterward, so from the ground the roof looks fine. Months later, wind-driven rain works past that broken seal, and the first sign you get is a brown ring on the drywall overhead.
We look for that damage while a repair can still handle it. We check every slope, the hips and ridges, the flashing at walls and vents, and the decking where it feels soft underfoot. Then we tell you what can be fixed, what should be documented for a claim, and whether the damage is extensive enough that roof replacement is the honest answer.
We are a licensed general contractor and have been in business since 1995. A small team handles your job, so the person who photographs the damage is on the roof again when it gets repaired.

What the Work Includes
- 01
A free post-storm inspection
We walk every slope and check the attic where we can reach it. Wet insulation or daylight around a vent pipe tells us more than the shingles alone.
- 02
Photo documentation
You get dated photos of creased tabs, missing shingles, lifted ridge cap, bent drip edge and damaged flashing, each tied to where it is on your roof. Those photos are what an adjuster needs to see.
- 03
Temporary protection
If an opening could let water into the decking before the full repair, we dry it in with underlayment or a secured tarp so the plywood does not swell and delaminate.
- 04
Shingle and flashing repair
We replace broken shingles, reseal or replace step and counter flashing, refasten ridge cap and replace cracked pipe boots. New shingles are hand-sealed so they hold until the sun activates the strip.
- 05
Decking and gutter checks
Soft or rotted plywood under damaged areas is cut out and replaced before new shingles go on. We also check for gutters pulled loose by debris and wind, since a sagging run dumps water at the fascia.

Call(904) 675-1142Signs the Last Storm Damaged Your Roof
Granules or shingle pieces in the yard
Strips of shingle on the lawn or granules piled at downspout outlets mean the wind tore or scuffed material off the roof.
Ridge cap that looks uneven
Ridge cap catches the most wind. A lifted or missing piece leaves the nail line at the peak open to rain.
A new ceiling stain
Wind-driven rain comes in sideways and can travel along a rafter before it drips. A stain that appeared after a storm should be traced, not painted over.
Debris impact
A fallen palm frond or limb can crack shingles and dent metal vents even when nothing looks torn. Bruised areas fail early.
Bent drip edge or loose flashing
Metal at the eaves and around chimneys that is bent outward lets water run behind it and into the fascia and decking.
How a Storm Repair Job Runs
- 1
Inspection and photos
We come out, inspect the roof and attic, and go over the photos with you. You hear what we found before any number comes up.
- 2
Written scope
You get a line-item scope in writing: every repair named, the shingle and flashing materials spelled out, and our best count of decking sheets that may need replacing. When a claim is involved, your adjuster receives that same scope along with the photos.
- 3
Adjuster meeting
When you file, we work directly with your insurance adjuster and can be on the roof during their visit to point out each damaged area. The coverage decision stays with your insurer.
- 4
Repair and cleanup
The same crew makes the repair, pulls any permit the Florida Building Code requires, and runs a magnet over the yard and driveway for nails before leaving. Our repair work carries a 5-year workmanship warranty.
What Sets the Price of Your Storm Repair
Wind and debris rarely damage two roofs in the same pattern, so we price from what turns up on your roof, not from a chart. If your claim is approved, your deductible and your insurer's coverage decision set your out-of-pocket share. Financing is available for the rest.
- How much area is damaged
- A few creased tabs on one slope is a small repair. Damage spread across several slopes can push a section past what the Florida Building Code allows to be patched, which means that section must be brought to current code.
- Condition of the decking
- Plywood that stayed wet after the storm may need to be cut out and replaced. We only know once the shingles come off, and we show you photos before adding it.
- Matching existing shingles
- Older shingle lines are often discontinued. Finding a close match in color and profile can take more time or more material.
- Roof pitch and access
- Steep slopes need extra fall protection and staging, and a tight lot can slow material handling.
Storm Damage Questions
Should I call my insurance company or a roofer first?
Many homeowners find it easier to have the roof inspected first so they know whether there is damage worth filing. Our post-storm inspection is free and the photos are yours either way. Check your policy for reporting deadlines, since insurers set their own.
What part do you play when the adjuster comes out?
Our dated photos and written scope go to the adjuster ahead of the visit. If you want us there, one of the people who inspected your roof climbs up alongside them and points to each creased tab, lifted cap and bent flashing. Deciding what the policy pays is your insurer's job, not ours. Our job is making sure no damaged area gets overlooked or described wrong.
Can a few damaged shingles really cause a leak?
Yes. Once a shingle's sealant strip breaks, wind lifts it on every storm after that, and rain is pushed under it toward the nail line. One open tab over a seam in the decking is enough to wet the plywood.
How do I know whether to repair or replace?
When the damage sits in one or two areas and the surrounding shingles are still flexible and holding their granules, fixing those areas is usually the sound choice. If damage is widespread or the shingles are already brittle, we will say so and explain why roof replacement may make more sense.
Do you inspect metal roofs after storms too?
We do. On metal we look for loosened fasteners, lifted panel edges, damaged trim and failed sealant at the ridge. Our metal roofing page covers that system in more detail.
